Why your dental practice website doesn't bring in patients

Picture the actual visitor: it's 21:00, their tooth aches, they're on a phone in bed comparing three practices. Your site has one job in that moment. Most fail it five ways at once.

1. The phone number is a treasure hunt

The patient wants to call or message, tonight, and your number is buried on a contact page behind a menu. The fix is boring and works: a tap-to-call button and a WhatsApp link visible on every screen. In South Africa, WhatsApp is not an extra channel. It is the channel.

2. The site is slow on mobile data

Your visitor is not on office fibre. They're on a cellular connection they pay for, and every second of loading is a reason to try the next practice on the list. Test your own site tonight on your own phone with wifi off. If you catch yourself waiting, so does every patient.

3. Booking asks too much

Forms that want a full history before offering a time slot lose the patient at field three. The demo standard: name, number, what hurts. Everything else can be asked in the chair or on the phone.

4. The photos are of nobody

Stock smiles tell the patient nothing. What they're actually judging: does this place look clean, calm, and real. Photos of your actual rooms and your actual team, even simple phone photos taken in good light, beat any stock library.

5. Google Maps doesn't know you properly

Many patients never reach your website at all. They pick from the map results: rating, distance, hours, photos. If your listing is thin, out of date, or unclaimed, you're invisible in the exact moment of decision. The website and the listing have to be maintained as one thing.

The test that settles it

Hand your phone to a friend and ask them to book an appointment at your practice through your site, right now, while you watch. Every place they hesitate is a patient you didn't get. Then look at what we'd build instead: we make a working demo for your practice before you pay anything, and you run the same test on it.
